About me
Hello! My name is Elizabeth Marie Cain and I'm a Canadian illustrator, based in Toronto Ontario. Interested in cartoons, animation and character design, I have a penchant for creating my unique blend of style in my approach to these categories. I enjoy creating goofy, vibrant, high energy illustrations in a variety of traditional and digital mediums. Often times I work analogue but am also capable of working digitally. My inspiration comes from comics, movies, videos and music. As an example, I admire artists like Simon Bisely for his Lobo and Hell blazer work. I just love the style and edgy humor, it's wild! Jamie Hewlett is also a gem with his Tank Girl series along side his Gorillaz band personas he has gifted the Mtv music world. I also enjoy Moebius aka Jean Girard for his collaboration with Alejandro Jodorowsky; mostly for his concept work for Dune. Frank Frazetta's art is another personal idol for his collaboration with Ralph Bakshi in Fire and Ice as well as his paintings in general because his use of colour is amazing! As far as animation goes, I enjoy anything stop motion, or anything done by Studio Ghibli, Ralph Bakshi, Warner Bros, Dream Works, Adult Swim and Frederator. Lastly some of my favorite bands are Nirvana, Mac Demarco, Gorillaz and Seether. However, my taste tends to change with the season.
